Botopasi enriched with brand new mini artificial grass field

The Ministry of Regional Development and Sports (ROS) proudly delivered a brand new mini artificial grass pitch in the village of Botopasi. This modern sports facility contributes to a healthy lifestyle, sports development and strengthening of the community spirit in the interior.

The festive opening took place in the presence of Vice President Ronnie Brunswijk, Minister Gracia Emanuel, Acting Director of the Directorate for Sustainable Development of Afro-Surinamese Inland (DOASB) Hermien Pavion, Deputy Director of Sports Facilities and Spaces John Atida, DNA member Ramon Koedemoesoe and market master Sergio Anoesa.

Minister Emanuel addressed the community and reflected on an earlier visit to the village:

“At the beginning of our reign we were here and we played football on a pitch that wasn’t really suitable. Today I’m happy to be back to deliver a better facility.”

Vice President Brunswijk also expressed his appreciation and congratulated the residents on this valuable asset. As an extra incentive, sports equipment was handed over to the community.

The Ministry remains committed to the development of sports infrastructure in both city and district, with special attention to the interior.
