Webinar Series on Climate-Smart Agriculture in the Caribbean
August 20, 2024 - August 24, 2024
The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Caribbean Climate Hub and International Climate Hubs are excited to co-host a 4-part virtual webinar series on climate-smart farming and forestry practices in the Caribbean region. This series aims to raise awareness about the tools and resources available for farmers, ranchers, foresters, and researchers in the region and to encourage sharing of experiences to improve climate resiliency in tropical agriculture and forestry.
The webinar series will cover the many tools and resources of USDA’s Climate Hub Network, which includes both an International and a Caribbean hub. It will feature Caribbean-specific adaptation guides for tropical agriculture and forestry that takes users along a 5-step planning process to reduce vulnerability to climate change. It will also include a deep dive into unique growing stress-tolerant varieties, working trees for small islands, geospatial technologies, and diversifying practices for profit.
Finally, the series will cover international efforts of interest to this region and ways to get involved in climate issues globally.
